Why I Took a Break From Both Personal and Hire Writing

Whether you’re a new reader or a long-time fan and member of the Frog Slut Army, you might’ve noticed I’m putting out way less content.

Well, there’s a few reasons for this.

I’ve been dealing with a lot of life stuff. The move took a lot out of me. And on the surface, someone with a media-centric career switching coasts doesn’t sound like a big deal. But leaving The Bronx for California was the biggest and most radical act of self-love I ever committed.

It was still incredibly expensive and exhausting.

Then I finally closed on the sale of my home, a process that took way longer that it should have. I had a good realtor and lawyer on my side. But even then, I had to go through nightmarish bureaucracy to do a remote closing so I wouldn’t have to jet to New York and back in a freaking pandemic and right before GDC, the biggest games industry event of the year.

I also have my reasons for not writing on Medium much anymore. Shannon Ashley summed it up better than I could: seriously, what the HELL were they thinking by nixing the ability to write and edit on mobile?! With…
